Autocross events are held on two surfaces. The first is Grass and the second in Loose Surface e.g. Dirt Tracks and Quarry Events. This form of Motorsport is held on a circuit laid out by the organizers. Drivers must compete individually against the clock. Usually the circuit is long enough to hold two cars at the same time but passing is not allowed. A competitor will get four to six attempts to set their best time. On Loose surface events the winner is decided when the total time of each run is added and the person with the fastest total wins.
At most of the major Autocross events in Ireland you will find motorsport photographer Trevor McGrath taking photos of the action as it takes place. Our photos of Autocross are available for purchase, please contact us for details.
